9 months old

Height: 28 inches
Weight: 17 lbs 15 oz

At 9 months old, Grayson has 4 teeth and wakes one time a night. He still doesn't really like solid foods but is slowly getting more adventurous. Grayson is picky about what he will pick up and try eating. when it comes to typical baby snacks such as cheerios and yogurt drops he only tries one and then the rest end up on the ground. Any table food we give him has to be long and skinny or else it really doesn't end up in his mouth. He doesn't like to chew and instead just sucks and tastes things.

Grayson hasnt made much progress in the crawling department. He just rolls and does the airplane while on the floor. He is just happy to be! One thing he did start mimicking was when we shake our head. He now will try and get us all to shake our heads at him while we sit at the dinner table. He is most interested in trying to get Dallin to respond back. I love that he does this and its the cutest thing ever.

Since the weather has been warmer, we have been outside more and Grayson loves looking all around. He likes grass surprisingly and tries to pull it from the ground. I love watching him explore things. He also got to experience bubbles and he loved watching them float around the backyard. Such a cutie!

8 Months Old

Height: 28 inches
Weight: 18 lbs

At 8 months old, Grayson has 3 teeth! His top tooth just barely popped through the gums and his other top front tooth is not far behind. Grayson has been taking about 2 naps a day and recently slept through the night a couple times. Lets hope he keeps this up because then we wont have to sleep train him!

Grayson loves to sit up and play with toys but he struggles with standing assisted. We have been working with him to use his legs and it is still hit or miss if he will do it. So far we still have no signs of crawling or even trying to crawl. He does like to roll around though. He is starting to show signs of tantrum throwing. When we try and get him to crawl towards a toy, he often just puts his face in the carpet and then cries really hard. It's cute but also frustrating.

As for food, Grayson loves graham crackers, bits of bread, and roasted sweet potatoes slices. Banana, blueberry, and blackberry puree is still his favorite.

Grayson loves his family and loves his brother especially. He always tries to sit forward in his car seat so he can see Dallin when we are in the car. It is so sweet to hear the two of them laughing as we drive.

7 Months

Height: 27.5 in
Weight: about 17 lbs

This month you:

+ Got your first tooth! You were chewing on everything and it finally popped through.

+ Learned to sit up! We practiced a lot more this month and your balance has improved. You cant sit up for extended periods but if you have the right toys dangling in front of you, you are more motivated.

+Tried Gerber puffs! You kind of gag on them but you are slowly learning to chew.

+ Got better at eating purees. You don't stick your tongue out as often, but it still happens!

+ Really found your voice. At night you yell when you wake up rather than cry. At dinner you yell as loud as you can and your dad and I can hardly hear each other talk. Dallin looks at me all the time and says "He's so LOUD!". You really are loud! If we lose track of what we are doing when feeding you, you yell at us as well. Lots and lots of yelling!

6 Months

Weight: 16 lbs 3.5 oz
Height: 27 in

This month:

You rolled! I wasn't in the room which made me sad but when I came back you had rolled from your back to your belly! It took you a couple more weeks to do it again but you did it!

You didn't really like solid foods. Bananas may be your favorite though. Sweet potatoes are a close second. You never really open your mouth when we feed you and you almost always stick out your tongue making it even harder to feed you! But it cute.

You are sleeping well at night with only waking 1-2 times. You also take 3 naps a day and you make it obvious when you need another one! You have even fallen asleep in your bouncer a couple of times and your brother tried to wake you up but you were out!

You aren't fond of letting other people hold you lately and cry a lot when we pass you off to someone. Stranger Danger is a real thing for you!

You got your first cough this month which was very sad. It was also your first doctors appointment for anything other than a Well Check.

You love watching the phone when we video chat with people.

Every morning you like to look out the window after nursing. I can tell you get distracted sometimes before you eat because all you want me to do is lift you up so you can see out.

You finally started enjoying your toys! You are curious about them and grab at them a lot. You are starting to have favorite toys. You love this laptop toy that sings songs and has moving lights. If you are crying when I am busy, I ask Dallin to go bring the toy to you and you always stop crying afterwards.

5 Months Old

Height: 26 inches
Weight:

At five months old Grayson is quite the cutie. He is sleeping in his own room now and that seems to have fixed his terrible night wake-ups. We must have been keeping each other awake! Now he only wakes 1 to 2 times a night and it is wonderful. Something I think is funny about him is that he screams for us at night but once morning comes he just sits there in his crib not making a sound. I have to check the video monitor every morning to check if he is awake and he almost always is in there playing with his hands a kicking his feet.

Grayson has been rolling to his side more but hasn't quite rolled from his back to his belly. However, he loves to roll from his belly to his back to get out of tummy time. I can see that he is trying to move during tummy time but he struggles to get far before he rolls over to his back.  He grabs at some toys a bit more but overall he just loves to play with and eat his hands the most.

He loves Dallin and loves to watch Dallin run around and play. He always follows Dallin with his eyes and laughs with him. It is the sweetest thing. He also loves to be near mommy and lately has been resting his cheek on mine when I hold him.

Lately he has been falling asleep on the living room floor while I do the morning dishes. I find it funny because Dallin never did that (but then again, Dallin never liked being left alone either). He is such an easy going little guy until something sets him off. But that is very rare and usually only happens just before bedtime.

His blocked tear ducts cleared up as well! His eyes are goop free!

4 Months

Height: 24.7 Inches
Weight: 14 pounds 8.5 oz

This month we have hit the dreaded 4 month sleep regression. He started waking up so much at night! Thankfully he was easy to get back to sleep but it has taken a toll on me. He seems to be sleeping a bit better now so hopefully he will start sleeping longer stretches again soon.

Grayson loves his family and knows when strangers are holding him. He sticks his bottom lip out and cries when we pass him off to someone else. It's cute but heartbreaking! He has been having some separation anxiety lately too which makes it hard to shower or get things done around the house. But he always calms down quickly when I pick him up.

He loves his brother and smiles when he sees Dallin. He always get bright eyed when daddy comes home from work as well. He is easy to get laughing and loves to eat his hands. He could care less about toys because he has two hands that are more entertaining! He kicks his legs out fast quite often like he is trying to run. My favorite thing he does is stick his tongue out and does a little pant when he sees me walking towards him. I call him "little puppy dog" when he does that and it is adorable.

3 Months

Height: 24 in
Weight: 12.8 lbs

Grayson is three months old and growing fast. His size two diapers are getting tight and he is just about to move up to size 3 diapers. His tear ducts are still clogged and he knows when i have to put eye drops in his eyes or massage his tear ducts. He always flinches and tries to get away. Poor kid.

He is smiling more and more and we have gotten some giggles out of him. Tyler is the best at getting Grayson to laugh and it usually happens just after a diaper change. He loves it when I sing to him. The Ants Go Marching just may start to be his favorite song just like it was Dallins's favorite song.

Grayson is getting better at sleep. He still only gives a 4 hour stretch but he goes to sleep really fast after each night feeding which is nice. No more holding him upright for 30 minutes after eating! Naps are still mostly in the swing and he has about 4 a day. Whenever I put him in the crib for a nap, they are very short. He isnt really on a day sleep schedule, i just let him sleep when he gets cranky and it all seems to work out. This month we will try for a better schedule.

Tummy time is getting to be more fun for him. He picks his head up now and looks around at us and at his toys. He is able to lay under his play mat and be distracted by his toys for a longer period of time which is nice when I need to get chores done. He is still very easy to console and just loves to be held.

Overall, Grayson is a very easy going little guy and we all love him so much!
